Tonight vs. Pistons

Today is the last post for March, as well as the last game for March.

So today, in the case that Wally shows his Walter power, I'm telling everyone to chant "WALLY" and/or "WALL-Y'S-WORLD" and get it going. That as well as "MVP", which isn't for Wally (unfortunately), but rather King Lebron James.

I can't say what today's match-up is going to be like but my thoughts say that we have a 95% chance of winning. If by some chance we DON'T win, to a game I am actually going to, I would not only be shocked, cry miserably, and not do my homework for a week, but I would be shocked, cry miserably, not do my homework for a week, and blame it all on Kinsey or Sasha. As you can see, I have a knack for blaming other bench players-- they try and act too cool too often. :\

-----

The game was pretty good. It happened to be fanatic night where lots of Crazy Cav Fans come and "make some noise" (which is the main focus of the game). I can't say I was amazed at everything as far as "side-show entertainment" went, but the actual game was pretty good, even if we started off pretty bad.

As soon as Wally Szczerbiak and Daniel Gibson got on the floor, things went well. Wally Szczerbiak hit a 2 pointer and Daniel Gibson hit a few shots as well, which made things "get pumped" (another re-occuring theme). After that things fell into place and by half time we had caught up once again. Wally only played 11 minutes in last night's game but was 2-4 and scored 4 points. Daniel Gibson played more than twice as much (which is pretty chump if you ask me) and scored twice as much, but I give him some credit, since he did help us win.

King James himself could hardly hit any shots and was forced to drive to the whole for some amazing and sick plays... This is why we chant "MVP". If Lebron can't shoot he drives, and if he can't drive he shoots, and if he can't do both he'll crank up the defense, pickpocket you like you're an old person, and then "mama, there goes that man!"

Rasheed Wallace got his 16th technical foul this season and so he's suspended for a game-- I'm glad, he was actually hitting his shots and that hurt us early in the game.

I'm going to post pictures later today or tomorrow, hopefully. I have a few of Wally and his pure shot (I'm telling you, he couldn't miss during the pre-game warmup) and some other pictures, but they weren't amazing as we didn't get to go too close up.

On top of our win to shut up the people who thought the Pistons were still a better team than the Cavaliers and extend our winning streak, the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Charlotte Bobcats. Hah! It's ridiculous. You can't beat us if you lose to pathetic teams like that. One difference between us and the Celtics and Lakers... we don't lose to chumps like that.

Recent Ballin'

Recently there haven't been any updates. Not that there hasn't been anything to add, just Wally Szczerbiak had been injured recently and this blog loses its life without Wally. Still, how did he look in a suit and tie, watching from the sidelines?

As the Cavaliers pummel these teams at home, with or without Szczerbiak who is now back in the line-up (imagine that), we continue to secure our spot as the top in the East and the whole NBA. Wally Szczerbiak is still getting into it as he was only 1-5 but his both free throws and tried to make it up by giving 5 rebounds and two steals. Thankfully we won so my only complaint is "nice job Mike Brown, Gibson makes a shot or two and you start giving him his full minutes again, you're so inconsistent".

Good news though: the Official Cavaliers site has added a section with a biography on Wally Szczerbiak, a wallpaper, recent videos, merchandise (including different types of jerseys which I plan on buying), and tons of amazing Wally Szczerbiak images!

Wally Szczerbiak Rookie MVP

Here's something to cheer all you guys up while Wally rests his legs in time for the playoffs; a video of him completely balling it up.

Injury Report

Cavaliers G-F Wally Szczerbiak will be out for 2-3 weeks due to a
knee injury on his left knee (sprained MCL).

Wally Szczerbiak Injured!

One of the worst things that could possibly happen...

Against tonight's game versus the Magic, Wally banged his knee with Dwight Howard's and obtained a knee sprain. How bad the injury is and how long he will be out is still unknown, but at the moment I am weeping for the loss of such a valuable and great player...

All I can do now is hope that it's not too big and Wally will be back in a couple weeks or at least just in time for the playoffs (preferably some games before the playoffs so he can get back into it if he needs to transition from the injury).

It seems like every time one of our ballers' step up (or in the case of Gibson, try to step up) they get injured.

Wally Szczerbiak Photos

These were taken with a camera, they are pictures of Wally after the Suns game, he is so cool isn't he? I want to go back stage and meet Wally Szczerbiak in person. As well as Mo Williams and Lebron James of course. Make that the whole Cavaliers except for maybe Gibson and Sasha.

Cavaliers vs. Magic Pre-Game

Today we play the Magic at home at the Q. It's an important game as stated before because of Orlando's chance to get ahead of Boston and possibly get ahead of us. We also need to prove our dominance at home even versus good teams like the Lakers, Celtics, and Magic.

The game is at 7:00 today, and we'll see how it goes. Hopefully we step up our D so we don't give these guys easy points.

Cavaliers vs. Knicks

Last night the Cavaliers were back at home for some more GET THAT WEAK STUFF OUTTA HERE plays- 3 of which were the various players swatting Lee right out of there.

Nate Robinson had a pretty interesting putback dunk, as well as one that would have been amazing had he not missed it.

Wally Szczerbiak wasn't feeling it as much as other days, as he was 1-4 only scoring 2 points. The crowd was shocked when he missed a wide-open three, knowing that such shots are rarely missed by Wally, whether he is open or not.

Mo Williams scored 23 points, hitting all 5 of his 3 point shots. Just what I'd expect from Mo, Wally used to play just as well when he was still on the Timberwolves.

As of me posting this, the Cavaliers are tied with the Lakers (as far as record goes) and are 3.5 games ahead of Boston. The Orlando Magic are just barely trailing the Celtics, meaning the Magic could easily be the 2nd place team in the Eastern Conference, and if the Cavs started to lose (most likely caused by letting Sasha have more minutes) then there's still the chance that the Magic will top our record, making our upcoming match against Orlando tomorrow really important.

Not only is it important for our overall record, but I still feel that our home record is amazing and that we can't afford to lose to the Magic. If by some chance we played each other in the playoffs, we'd have a problem if we didn't win our home games.

Important game tomorrow, on Fox Sports Ohio! GET THAT WEAK STUFF OUTTA HERE!

A Spectacular Show - Lebron, Andy, and the Cavs win over the Kings

Last night was a game you just couldn't miss- Lebron with 51 Points, Wally with 12 Points in the first half (he didn't touch the ball afterwards), Anderson Varejao with 18 points... even Gibson was hitting a few of his shots!

The Cavaliers didn't start off too well, quickly falling behind and then catching up a little by the end of the first quarter. Then came the second quarter, where it was WALLY'S WORLD!

Wally Szczerbiak was ballin' it up big time. It started off with a pass from Mo Williams where Wally knocked down a 3 the way he's done it a million times. Afterwards, Wally hit up the post and took advantage of his defender who couldn't stand up to the All-Star Wally Szczerbiak. Wally got his other 9 points by a lay-up, a reverse lay-up while traveling down the baseline, a mini hookshot from the pro in the post, two free throws off a shot that almost went in and hit one of two more free throws when he drove in and got fouled.

After Wally's World the first half ended. In the 3rd half the Cavs started losing it again, especially to people like Martin and Solomon who were draining shots and 3-pointers like crazy. Wally came in during the last few minutes in the 3rd quarter and stayed during the beginning of the 4th quarter, but he hardly even touched the ball and sat down for the night; despite this, he still had a great game. After all, whenever you get the ball to Wally Szczerbiak, he makes things happen.

Other bench players were contributing too. Gibson had 9 points as he hit 2 of 4 three pointers, which is pretty good considering he hasn't been able to shoot for the past 65 games or so. Tarence Kinsey also hit 3 field goals giving him 7. Joe Smith was quiet and the shower warmers stayed in the showers.

Mike Brown's ejection from the game didn't help either. For those who don't know, Mike got furious at no foul being called when Mo drove in and was clearly fouled, and the two technical fouls came consecutively.

Z, Sasha, and Mo weren't doing too well- Sasha couldn't hit many shots, neither could Mo, and Z was decent but he didn't take a ton of good looks and he only hit 1 of 3 free throws.

Fourth quarter, we're down and by a bit. Lebron throws a dunk down and everybody's too scared to stop him. Varejao and Lebron, the two top scorers in last night's game, take over and score the next 8 points, 4 points each. James hits more free throws, some of which were pretty clutch: Lebron hit 15 out of 17 free throws tonight, which was really important. Tied at the last seconds of the quarter, Martin took a shot... but Lebron said GET THAT WEAK STUFF OUTTA HERE!!! and the game went into overtime.

Pavlovich got fouled out, and some surprise minutes came for Wally Szczerbiak who entered at the near beginning of overtime. Lebron scored 6 more points off of an And-1 layup and a 3 pointer, giving James a whopping 51 points for the night. After Varejao's 18th point for the game the Cavs focused on defense. During the last few seconds of the game the Kings were down 1 and fouled Mo Williams (they would have given the ball to Wally or Mo, since they are the best free throw shooters) and the Kings were unsuccessful in tieing the game with a three, making the win 126-123, Cavaliers.

Probably the biggest post yet-- yesterday was a pretty intense game, moreso because they actually got Wally the ball, Mike Brown was ejected, and the game went into overtime (something we haven't seen in a long time).

Wally's Stats for the Game:

Points: 12
Minutes: 26:38

3-Point Field Goals: 1-2
2-Point Field Goals: 3-4
Total Field Goals A/M: 4-6

Free Throws Attempted/Made: 3-4*

Offensive Rebounds: 1
Defensive Rebounds: 5
Total Rebounds: 6

Assists: 1*
Steals: 1
Personal Fouls: 0
Turnovers: 0

*Wally purposely missed a free-throw shot and we ended up getting the ball back. Wally was given the ball and the all-star was double teamed; he made a nice pass to Lebron who went in and drove in for 2 and 1; this was an amazing play devised by Wally Szczerbiak.

Cavaliers vs. Los Angeles Clippers :: Comeback

Late last night was a comeback game, let's get that straight-- We were down by 19 and ended up winning by 4 due to an outbreak during the 4th quarter. The Cavaliers outscored the Clippers 35 to 14 in the final quarter, hitting clutch shots such as Gibson's 3 to tie the game and Mo's game-ending 3 point shot.

So what if Mo was missing most of his other shots? We won, and I'm glad, and you should be too.

After all, we shouldn't lose to a team whose record was 15-48.

Wally's Figures:

Minutes: 9:44 (Mike Brown is a hater; seriously, I honestly believe Szczerbiak should start over West sometimes, or at least West shouldn't play so much and neither should the sucky Gibson)

Field Goals Made/Attempted: 2-4
3 Point Field Goals M/A: 0-1

Other Stats: 1 Defensive Rebound, 1 Turnover

Wally's Solid Play

Wally's play recently is best described by one word; solid.

He hasn't been turning it over a lot, or at all. That's supposedly one of his weaknesses, which is why I mentioned it. Turnovers means loss of possession and ultimately means a chance that the other team scores, which we don't want.

He was 2-3 at the unfortunate and stupid loss at the Celtics (yes I'm a Cavs fan and a Celtics hater, congrats on learning this) and 2-5 during today's game vs. the Celtics. It shows that Wally is reliable, and possibly more reliable than people make him out to be.

I seriously think there are times where Wally is wide-open and he doesn't get the ball and times where they just don't trust Wally with the ball and don't let him do his thing; you can't be a good team unless you make fair and balanced use of everybody. I'm not saying he should get 14 points a game-- even if he can, naturally that means other people will get less points and the point of this team is to work together to win.

If you want to win, you have to play with all-around efficiency which is really hard. It's something we're lacking just a tiny bit lately; just a tiny bit. That's the difference between us having the record we have now, having the record of the Pistons, and having a perfect record (that'd be nice, wouldn't it be?)

Later.

Wally and KG

Did you know that Wally and Kevin Garnett used to play on the Timberwolves? Most people who care about the NBA do; two all-stars on the same team. Here's a pic.

I haven't told you guys, have I?

Today is Wally Szczerbiak's birthday. Just thought I'd let you guys now. A semi-coincidence that I just happened to create this blog, I knew it was his birthday but I didn't realize it until a couple hours ago.

Here's another pic for everyone:

Cavaliers vs. Milwaukee Bucks

In the game last night vs the Bucks, Wally Szczerbiak came off the bench and scored 11 points, leading the bench in the game. He was hitting his shots again and showed effort in multiple areas including the post, turn-around jay, and all around well play. Here are his stats for the game:

Points: 11

Minutes: 24:37
2-Pt Field Goals Attempted/Made: 4/5
3-Pt Field Goals Attempted/Made: 1/4
Total FG A/M: 5/9
Free Throws Attempted/Made: 0/0

O. Rebounds: 0
D. Rebounds: 3
T. Rebounds: 3
Assists: 2
Personal Fouls: 1
Steals: 1
Turnovers: 1

Overall a solid game by Wally. :D
