A Spectacular Show - Lebron, Andy, and the Cavs win over the Kings

Last night was a game you just couldn't miss- Lebron with 51 Points, Wally with 12 Points in the first half (he didn't touch the ball afterwards), Anderson Varejao with 18 points... even Gibson was hitting a few of his shots!

The Cavaliers didn't start off too well, quickly falling behind and then catching up a little by the end of the first quarter. Then came the second quarter, where it was WALLY'S WORLD!

Wally Szczerbiak was ballin' it up big time. It started off with a pass from Mo Williams where Wally knocked down a 3 the way he's done it a million times. Afterwards, Wally hit up the post and took advantage of his defender who couldn't stand up to the All-Star Wally Szczerbiak. Wally got his other 9 points by a lay-up, a reverse lay-up while traveling down the baseline, a mini hookshot from the pro in the post, two free throws off a shot that almost went in and hit one of two more free throws when he drove in and got fouled.

After Wally's World the first half ended. In the 3rd half the Cavs started losing it again, especially to people like Martin and Solomon who were draining shots and 3-pointers like crazy. Wally came in during the last few minutes in the 3rd quarter and stayed during the beginning of the 4th quarter, but he hardly even touched the ball and sat down for the night; despite this, he still had a great game. After all, whenever you get the ball to Wally Szczerbiak, he makes things happen.

Other bench players were contributing too. Gibson had 9 points as he hit 2 of 4 three pointers, which is pretty good considering he hasn't been able to shoot for the past 65 games or so. Tarence Kinsey also hit 3 field goals giving him 7. Joe Smith was quiet and the shower warmers stayed in the showers.

Mike Brown's ejection from the game didn't help either. For those who don't know, Mike got furious at no foul being called when Mo drove in and was clearly fouled, and the two technical fouls came consecutively.

Z, Sasha, and Mo weren't doing too well- Sasha couldn't hit many shots, neither could Mo, and Z was decent but he didn't take a ton of good looks and he only hit 1 of 3 free throws.

Fourth quarter, we're down and by a bit. Lebron throws a dunk down and everybody's too scared to stop him. Varejao and Lebron, the two top scorers in last night's game, take over and score the next 8 points, 4 points each. James hits more free throws, some of which were pretty clutch: Lebron hit 15 out of 17 free throws tonight, which was really important. Tied at the last seconds of the quarter, Martin took a shot... but Lebron said GET THAT WEAK STUFF OUTTA HERE!!! and the game went into overtime.

Pavlovich got fouled out, and some surprise minutes came for Wally Szczerbiak who entered at the near beginning of overtime. Lebron scored 6 more points off of an And-1 layup and a 3 pointer, giving James a whopping 51 points for the night. After Varejao's 18th point for the game the Cavs focused on defense. During the last few seconds of the game the Kings were down 1 and fouled Mo Williams (they would have given the ball to Wally or Mo, since they are the best free throw shooters) and the Kings were unsuccessful in tieing the game with a three, making the win 126-123, Cavaliers.

Probably the biggest post yet-- yesterday was a pretty intense game, moreso because they actually got Wally the ball, Mike Brown was ejected, and the game went into overtime (something we haven't seen in a long time).

Wally's Stats for the Game:

Points: 12
Minutes: 26:38

3-Point Field Goals: 1-2
2-Point Field Goals: 3-4
Total Field Goals A/M: 4-6

Free Throws Attempted/Made: 3-4*

Offensive Rebounds: 1
Defensive Rebounds: 5
Total Rebounds: 6

Assists: 1*
Steals: 1
Personal Fouls: 0
Turnovers: 0

*Wally purposely missed a free-throw shot and we ended up getting the ball back. Wally was given the ball and the all-star was double teamed; he made a nice pass to Lebron who went in and drove in for 2 and 1; this was an amazing play devised by Wally Szczerbiak.
